Il convient de noter le panneau situé à côté de la maison de José Sousa (siège actuel du pôle EPRAL d’Estremoz), évoquant l’implantation de la République portugaise, et qu’il a été placé à cet endroit, selon les déclarations orales d’un parent de celle-ci, de José Lourenço Marques Crespo. Maire d'Estremoz entre 1923 et 1926) comme provocation contre le monarchiste José Sousa.

Le trottoir portugais a un exemple paradigmatique à Estremoz, en plus du fait qu’il est tout en marbre, caractéristique commune à toute la zone marbrée, renforçant grandement cette importante manifestation du patrimoine culturel portugais.
