Nowadays Somerset West has become larger and more modern, but we are surrounded by the Hottentots Holland Mountains with the Helderberg as our “name giver”. There are 600 acres of forest, natural scrubland and vineyards, yet it is only 10 minutes to the beach and we are close to Cape Town. The local attractions include the famous Table Mountain, Strand and Gordon’s Bay Beaches and the V&A Waterfront. Experience the Helderberg’s five main attractions: the historic Vergelegen Wine Estate, Helderberg Nature Reserve, whale and penguin watching off Hermanus, Monkey Town primate sanctuary and visit the people in Lwandle and its labour museum. Welcome to our family-run guest house. We are most conveniently situated in the heart of the Helderberg tourist area. Only 18 minutes to and from Cape Town International Airport and only half an hour from the bustle of Cape Town. Our guest house is the perfect base for touring. Wine farms, golf courses, restaurants and shopping malls are well catered for locally.
