Tourist points
The municipal territory, which covers the island of Giglio, is almost completely mountainous and the highest peak (Poggio della Pagana) reaches 496 meters above sea level in the center of the island. The island offers many opportunities for rock climbing, especially in the area where there are numerous granite blocks that have not been fully explored, and currently offers two large areas, located on the hill leading to the lighthouse. The island is of great interest for scuba diving and is often regarded as one of Italy's most popular dive sites. It has beaches, the coast is 27 km and most of it is rocky except in some places where Campese Beach and other beaches on the eastern side of the island (Arenella, Cannelle, Caldane) are situated. There are three localities: Porto, Castello and Campese, each having its own local culture.
Gastronomy
In addition to the tasty and varied Italian cuisine made with fresh produce, you will find typical products that include "panficato", a cake whose main ingredients are figs, dried fruits, jam, orange peel and fruits (apple or pear) with a handful of flour or bread.
