The family-run hotel Seegarten is set in picturesque Sauerland countryside, embedded between the Sorpesee Lake and the spa park in Langscheid.
Each room is individually decorated room and strictly non-smoking. Some offer a balcony and views of either the lake or the park.
The restaurant serves regional and international cuisine made from fresh, natural ingredients. The restaurant is run by the TV-chef Olaf Baumeister. Half board includes a rich buffet and a 3-course evening meal with a choice of main courses.
Guest can enjoy cycling, hiking and swimming along Lake Sorp and through the surrounding area. Sorpesee yacht club and the Surfclub is situated opposite the hotel provides sailing and surfing courses for a fee. The surrounding area offers a wealth of leisure activities to keep you entertained:
- All around the beautiful lakes of the Sauerland district you will find an extensive network of sign-posted hiking trails.
- Clear water invites you to go swimming off the shores of the lakes or in an idyllic bay.
- On the other side of the lake you will find an 8-km long asphalt skating stretch, perfect for skaters and roller-bladers.
- Sorpesee yacht club and the Surfclub, situated opposite the hotel offer sailing and surfing.
- The nearby district of Sundern-Hagen features a famous mountain bike racing track.
- The area around Sopesee Lake is ideal for cyclists, as it is flat and free of traffic.
- In the neighbouring town of Neheim you will find a large go-karting race track.
- There is a new golf course in the area.
Sights:
- Veltins Brewery offers tours every Tuesday from 9:30, which introduce you to the fascinating world of beer production.
- The smaller, private brewery Esselbräu offers tours every Friday from 16.30.
- The surrounding area has a number of interesting caves to visit, such as the Atta Cave - the largest stalactite cave in Germany, located in Attendorn as well as the Recken Caves, situated between Menden and Balve.
- In Balve you will find the the Luisenhütte hut, which features the oldest charcoal oven in Germany, and also the largest natural caves in the whole of Europe.
- The ore mines in Ramsbeck offer amazing views under the ground. We offer you conference rooms which are equipped with the latest technical equipment.
